Revolut Ireland 2026 | Credit card, debit card and fees

What Revolut offers Irish customers in 2026 — the new credit card at 17.99% APR, Irish IBANs, plan prices, FX and ATM limits, and where your money sits.

Bank cardsUpdated

Revolut is the most-used card provider in Ireland by customer numbers and, since it launched a credit card here, the only genuinely new entrant in the Irish credit card market in years.

The legal structure matters for what follows. Revolut Bank UAB holds an ECB banking licence through the Bank of Lithuania and operates here as Revolut Bank UAB Ireland Branch, with the Central Bank of Ireland regulating it for consumer protection.

Revolut credit card

Item Detail
Interest rate 13.34% variable
Representative APR 17.99%
Cash advance APR 19.99%
Maximum credit limit €10,000
Intro offer 0% on purchases and balance transfers for up to 6 months, if you meet the minimum monthly payments
Annual fee None
Government stamp duty €30 a year
Late payment fee €10
Rewards RevPoints on card spending

Representative example: a single €1,500 purchase repaid in equal instalments over 12 months at 13.34% variable (17.99% APR) totals €1,640.58 including the €30 stamp duty.

At 17.99% APR this is the second-cheapest credit card in Ireland after AIB CLICK at 13.8%. It has no annual fee and a longer 0% window than PTSB.

Eligibility is tight. You must be 18 or over, a full resident of the Republic of Ireland living at a registered Irish address, employed in Ireland with income paid into a Revolut, AIB, Bank of Ireland or PTSB account, hold an Irish or UK mobile number, have been an active Revolut customer for at least 30 days, have no negative balances and no overdue commitments to third parties.

The 30-day rule means you cannot join Revolut and apply the same week.

One thing to watch: the interest-free grace period does not apply to cash withdrawals, transfers or cash advance transactions. Those accrue interest from the day they happen.

Other Revolut credit products in Ireland

Personal loans — €2,000 to €30,000 over one to five years, for Republic of Ireland residents aged 18 and over.

Pay Later — splits an eligible purchase into three instalments at a 1.65% fee per purchase with no interest. Maximum purchase €499. Works at any merchant, with any Revolut card. Needs 30 days as a customer, regular income and a clean credit record.

Mortgages — not launched. Revolut has repeatedly delayed an Irish mortgage product and as of March 2026 would not give a date.

Plans and prices

Plan Monthly price
Standard €0
Plus €3.99
Premium €8.99
Metal €15.99
Ultra €55

Irish IBANs

Revolut finished migrating its Irish personal customers from Lithuanian to Irish IBANs in April 2023, and everyone who has joined since 13 February 2023 gets an IE IBAN from the start. Old LT IBANs still work for existing direct debits and inbound payments.

This is the practical difference between Revolut and N26. Irish employers and utilities that once refused non-IE IBANs will accept a Revolut account.

Cards, FX and ATM fees

Network. Revolut Ireland issues both Visa and Mastercard. You do not get to choose the brand of a physical card — it is assigned by availability. You can usually choose for virtual cards, except single-use ones.

Currency exchange. Standard gives you €1,000 a month fee-free, then 1%. Plus gives €3,000 a month, then 0.5%. Premium, Metal and Ultra are unlimited and fee-free.

Weekend markup. Standard pays 1% and Plus 0.5% on exchanges made at the weekend. Premium, Metal and Ultra pay nothing. Revolut defines the weekend as 17:00 Friday to 18:00 Sunday New York time, which is not the same as an Irish weekend — a Sunday evening exchange in Dublin is still inside the window.

ATM withdrawals. On Standard you get €200 or 5 withdrawals a month, whichever comes first, then 2% with a €1 minimum. Higher tiers have larger allowances; check the current figures in the app, as Revolut’s published limits change.

Irish ATM stamp duty. Revolut charges the 12c per ATM withdrawal government levy, capped at €5 a year, billed in January for the previous year.

Revolut Kids and Teens

Revolut’s under-18 product covers ages 6 to 17. One child account is free on Standard, Plus covers up to two and Metal up to five. Peer-to-peer payments are only available from age 13.

Kids savings pay up to 2.5% AER variable — 2% where the parent is on Standard, 2.5% on Ultra. The child’s ATM allowance is €100 a month where the parent is on Standard, €200 on Metal or Ultra. Card customisation and delivery fees may apply.

Where your money actually sits

Revolut deposits are covered by the Lithuanian deposit guarantee scheme to €100,000 per depositor, not the Irish scheme. Flexible Cash Funds are covered separately to €22,000 under investor compensation rules.

Practically this makes little difference for most balances, but it is worth knowing if you keep large sums there, and it is a genuine difference from AIB, Bank of Ireland, PTSB and An Post.

Who Revolut suits

For everyday spending and travel, Revolut on the free Standard plan beats every Irish bank card on cost. The credit card is a serious product at 17.99% APR with no annual fee, but the eligibility rules — employed in Ireland, salary into one of four named banks, 30 days as a customer — rule out a lot of people.

It is not a full replacement for a bank if you want mortgage lending, and your deposits sit under a Lithuanian guarantee rather than an Irish one.
