About cards.ie

cards.ie explains every card in an Irish wallet — the credit and debit cards you bank with, the machines businesses take payments on, the Leap card that gets you to work, the One4all in the kitchen drawer and the government cards that prove who you are.

The site is independent. No bank, card scheme or provider owns any part of it, and nobody pays to change a verdict. Every rate, fee and process on the site is checked against the provider or official source before it's published, and each page shows the date it was last updated. If you spot something out of date, tell us — it gets fixed.

How the site is funded

Some pages about financial products carry affiliate links: if you open an account or buy a card reader through one, the provider may pay this site a commission. It costs you nothing and it never affects what we recommend — several of our top picks pay us nothing at all. The full policy is on the how we're funded page.

What this site is not

cards.ie publishes information, not financial advice. Nothing here accounts for your personal circumstances — check the details with the provider before you apply for anything, and talk to a regulated financial adviser if you need advice.

cards.ie is run by S5, an independent publisher building useful Irish and UK websites.
