Avant Money credit cards 2026 | One Card, Reward+, Everyday+

Avant Money's three Irish credit cards in 2026 — rates, cashback, the 25% interest refund and the €30 stamp duty refund, with the catches spelled out.

Bank cardsUpdated

Avant Money is the Irish trading name of Bankinter S.A., a Spanish bank regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland for consumer protection. It is the only non-bank-branded credit card issuer competing seriously in Ireland, and it also issues the An Post Money credit cards behind the scenes.

Three cards are open to new applicants in 2026. All three are Mastercard, none charge an annual bank fee, and all three carry a typical APR of 22.9%.

Avant Money credit cards in 2026

Card Standard rate Typical APR Built for
One Card Not published separately 22.9% variable Moving debt across from another card
Reward+ 16.8% variable on purchases, transfers and cash 22.9% variable Getting a quarter of your interest back
Everyday+ 20.8% variable 22.9% variable Grocery cashback

Rates were correct as published by Avant Money on 10 March 2026 and are variable.

The stamp duty refund

Avant Money charges the €30 government stamp duty to your account and then refunds it the same day. Every other Irish issuer passes the €30 straight to you. Over a few years that is a genuine, if small, difference, and it is the one thing about Avant that no competitor matches.

One Card

The switching card. New customers get:

  • 0% on balance transfers for 9 months
  • 0% on purchases for 3 months
  • 0% on money transfers into your own current account for 12 months
  • €150 cashback if you transfer at least €1,000 within 90 days of opening, paid within six months

You have to complete a balance transfer or money transfer within the first 90 days to get any of the promotional rates at all, and you can move up to 95% of your available credit.

Miss a minimum payment or go over your limit and Avant can pull the promotional rates, dropping the whole balance onto the standard variable rate. That condition applies across the range.

Reward+

Avant refunds 25% of the interest you are charged on purchases, every month, to a maximum of €24 per statement. Refunds arrive a month in arrears. Interest on cash transactions is not eligible.

There is also a €150 cashback offer for spending at least €500 a month in your first three months, paid within six months of opening.

The interest refund is unusual and worth understanding properly: it is only valuable if you carry a balance. At the 16.8% standard rate, a refund capped at €24 a month means the benefit tops out on roughly €1,700 of carried purchase balance. Clear your statement in full and the refund is worth nothing, because there is no interest to refund.

Everyday+

5% cashback at selected grocery retailers for the first 12 months, dropping to 1% after that, capped at €25 cashback a month. The standard purchase rate is 20.8% — the highest of the three.

Avant’s representative example: a €1,500 credit limit repaid over 12 months costs €1,669.00 in total, a cost of credit of €169.00.

Hitting the €25 monthly cap at 5% takes €500 a month of qualifying grocery spend. After year one the rate falls to 1%, so the same €500 returns €5. Treat this as a one-year offer, not a permanent rate.

Fees

Charge Amount
Government stamp duty €30, charged and refunded the same day
Annual bank fee None
Cash handling fee 1.5% of the transaction, minimum €2.50, no maximum
Non-euro transaction fee 2.65%
Minimum monthly payment The greater of €25 or 1% of your statement balance, plus charges, fees and interest
Eligibility Over 18 and resident in the Republic of Ireland

The 2.65% foreign currency fee is at the expensive end of the Irish market. There is no reason to use an Avant card abroad.

Avant also offers instalment plans on individual purchases of €250 or more, at a fixed rate that is normally below the standard purchase rate and stays fixed for the life of that plan.

Avant Money and An Post

Avant issues the An Post Money Classic and Flex credit cards. The lender is the same, the platform is the same, but the offers differ — An Post Classic runs 12 months at 0% on balance transfers against One Card’s 9. If you are transferring a balance, check both.

Avant Money also sells mortgages and personal loans in Ireland. It does not offer a current account or a debit card, so it cannot be your day-to-day bank.

Who Avant suits

Avant is the best answer if you want cashback or an interest rebate on a card with no annual fee, and the stamp duty refund quietly makes every Avant card €30 a year cheaper than the equivalent bank card.

It is not the answer if you want the longest 0% balance transfer — An Post beats it — or the lowest ongoing rate, where AIB CLICK at 9.11% is far cheaper than anything Avant sells.

Frequently asked questions

Does Avant Money pay the €30 government stamp duty?

Yes. Avant charges the €30 to your account and refunds it the same day, so you are not out of pocket.

Which Avant Money card is best?

One Card if you are moving an existing balance. Reward+ if you know you will carry a purchase balance and want 25% of the interest back. Everyday+ if you do a large weekly grocery shop and will actually hit the €25 monthly cashback cap in the first year.

What happens if I miss a payment on an Avant promotional rate?

Avant can end the promotional rates from the start of the next statement period, and the balance moves to the standard variable rate. Keep the minimum payment on time and stay inside your credit limit.

Is Avant Money a real bank?

Avant Money is the Irish trading name of Bankinter S.A., authorised by the Banco de España and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland for conduct of business rules. Your credit agreement is with Bankinter.
