Elavon Ireland: card machine rates and offers 2026

Elavon's published Irish offers — 0.75% on POS, €0 terminal fees until end 2026, the €30 minimum charge — and what happens when the promo ends.

Card machinesUpdated

Elavon is one of the few merchant acquirers that publishes actual euro figures for Ireland rather than sending everyone to a sales rep. It trades here as U.S. Bank Europe DAC, registered in Dublin and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland for its acquiring services.

The figures it publishes are promotional, though, and the reversion rate is where the real cost sits.

Elavon’s current Irish offers

These are the published offers as of 1 August 2026.

  • 12-month contract

Payouts

Next day. Elavon advertises money in your account next day across its Irish products, with 24/7 technical support on 0818 20 21 20.

Who it suits

An established Irish business that wants a regulated acquirer with published headline rates, next-day settlement and round-the-clock technical support — and one that will actually read the reversion terms.

The 0.75% monthly service charge on the Elavon POS offer is the lowest published percentage from any Irish merchant acquirer. At €5,000 a month in card turnover that is €37.50, with no terminal fee until the end of the year. Even at €23 a month afterwards, €60.50 all-in is competitive with anything in the market.

It suits multichannel businesses particularly well, since the gateway, terminal and merchant account come from the same provider on one statement.

Honest downsides

Everything is an introductory offer. The €0 terminal fee has an end date on both main products. On Multichannel, the reversion is described only as “the standard rate available at that time” — an unknown you are agreeing to in advance. Get that number in writing before signing, and treat a refusal to provide it as your answer.

The €30 minimum merchant service charge. On the Multichannel offer, a month where your processing fees come to €12 still costs you €30. For a seasonal or part-time business that is dead money.

The 12-month contract on Elavon POS. Modest by acquirer standards — AIB Merchant Services runs 1 to 4 years — but it is still a commitment, and there is no published early exit cost.

Three-terminal cap on the promotional products. Fine for a single site, limiting for a growing multi-till business.

No standing price list. The campaigns page changes. Whatever you were quoted is what matters, and it needs to be on paper.
